Why are some wooden artworks darker than others?
Each piece of wood is unique, so its shades naturally vary, bringing
vibrancy to the artwork. Every sheet of wood is individual, and some may
even have beautiful two-toned patterns. This is a richness.
What finishing materials do you use?
I use natural clay paint, which is ecological, plastic-free, safe, and biodegradable.
Where do you source your wood materials?
Since I live a nomadic lifestyle, I always source materials as close to
my location as possible. Most of the wood I use comes from Tampere,
Fiskars, and France. Sometimes, I have also received wood as a donation.
The amount of material I use is very small.
What happens to the artwork over time?
Wooden artworks may darken slightly over time. This is a natural and beautiful process.
What is a woodcut print?
A woodcut print is a relief printing technique in which an image is
first carved onto a wooden block. Ink is then applied to the raised
surface of the block, which is used to create an impression on paper.
Only a limited number of prints are made.
